Andy, a former preemie himself, was born thirteen weeks prematurely in 1977, weighing as little as 1lb. 9oz. Andy was blessed by the care of Cleveland's Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, where he struggled to survive--and where his parents Jeff and Cathy visited daily--for over three months.
As a young, and now adult, preemie, Andy has been actively involved in the preemie community--attending conferences, writing articles, and as a member of Dr. Maureen Hack's very-low birthweight research cohort. In 2005, he was a keynote speaker at the Ohio Children's Hospital Association's 20th year anniverary and also addressed Ohio state represenatives in Columbus on behalf of Rainbow Babies.
Since joining Preemie Purple Hearts in 2005, Andy has largely been responsible for our operating and marketing strategies. He became aware of Preemie Purple Hearts in 2001 upon giving his mother a Heart for her 50th birthday as a symbol of appreciation for all that she endured during their time in the NICU.
Andy recently returned to his hometown of Cleveland after living in Boston and Chicago. He walks past Rainbow Babies daily on his way to Case Western University's Weatherhead School of Management where he will graduate with his MBA in 2007. Andy holds a BS from Northwestern University and a graduate certificate in finance from Harvard University.
